This a strenuous walk of about 2 1/2 hours that will take you from Crone's Car park up to the slopes of Maulin Mountain (300 metres above the car-park). For the start the route is along the Wicklow Way until just beyond Ride Rock and the seat beside the gravel road looking down to Powercourt's Waterfall. The route diverts at this point back into the through de-forested ground and you just follow the trail shown in photo 2.

The gate shown on the above photo is the highest point of the walk unless you intend to climb Maulin Mountain (400 metres above the car-park) and go through it (photo on left).

The directions for the rest of the walk are simple just keep on going down hill. The start on the down-hill route is along a path but the route will then go along gravel roads. Keep to the main road, but close to the car-park there is a short-cut along a narrow path that is worth taking (second last photo). At the end of the path you are on the start route and the car-park is to your left.
